The fleshy leaves of this summer-flowering plant are a silvery grey and complement its colourful flowers magnificently. The flowers open up at sunrise and close at night. An ideal plant for hanging baskets and rock gardens.

Portulacas are drought-resistant and sun-loving, and do not require any special attention. They are fairly slow-growing so they can be planted close together.
